Will a Bankruptcy Filing Interrupt My Magazine Subscriptions?

Q: I want to file for bankruptcy. I'm a writer and subscribe to a lot of magazines which I need for research for my work. If I file bankruptcy, can I keep my magazine subscriptions that I have already paid for with my credit card? Will I have to give them back?
A: We've actually gotten this question before. Many Georgia residents enjoy magazines and utilize them for work. Some of the most popular magazines include:
AARP The Magazine, The Costco Connection, Game Informer, Better Homes and Gardens, Reader's Digest, Good Housekeeping, National Geographic, Family Circle, People, Woman's Day, Time, Sports Illustrated, Cosmopolitan, Prevention, Southern Living, Parenting, Redbook, Taste of Home, Martha Stewart Living, TV Guide, Us Weekly, ESPN The Magazine, Men's Health, Car and Driver, Golf Digest, TIME, Better Homes and Gardens, Smithsonian, O: The Oprah Magazine, Glamour, and many more. If the magazines have been paid for, you should likely be able to continue receiving them, at least until the subscription expires. We have not heard of a bankruptcy trustee in Georgia having an issue with someone receiving magazines for their personal use.
